Rafael Filippelli da Silva

Rafael Filippelli da Silva, PhD, currently serves as Gerente de Bioinformática and previously held the position of Especialista de Bioinformática - LATAM at QIAGEN since August 2018. Rafael completed a Doctorate in Molecular Biology at UNIFESP from 2013 to 2017, conducting research in molecular diagnostics and various techniques within Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics. The doctoral research focused on "Mutantes do receptor B2 de cininas," exploring drug-receptor interactions related to hereditary angioedema. Prior to the doctoral work, Rafael obtained a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from UNIFESP and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, along with Licentiate degree in Biological Sciences from Centro Universitário São Camilo. Additional experience includes a sandwich doctorate at the Max Delbrück Center and training at The Johns Hopkins University in next-generation sequencing analysis, as well as teaching microbiology, hygiene, and anatomy at Senac Brasil.
