Joan Deraval

Joan Deraval is an experienced professional in the field of social services, with a strong background in management and community-based program development. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Family Services at QSAC since April 2018, Joan oversees Community Habilitation and Respite Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing incident follow-ups. Prior roles include Manager of Article 16 Clinic Services at Cares NYC and Assistant Coordinator of Day Habilitation at YAI/NIPD, where responsibilities included staff management, regulatory compliance, and crisis intervention. Joan’s extensive experience is complemented by a Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and a BA in Special Education from Brooklyn College.
