Mario Roa

Mario Roa is a specialized propulsion project engineer at Axient since August 2023, focusing on liquid rocket engines and mission assurance for space access. Prior to this role, Mario served as a research scientist at Sierra Lobo, Inc. from June 2015 to August 2023 and received the 2019 Air Force Office of Scientific Research STAR Team award, while participating in key committees in the aerospace field. Mario’s academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, supported by a master's degree in Rocket and Jet Propulsion from the same institution, and an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Caltech. Earlier research activities include postdoctoral work at UCLA on cryogenic injection systems and a research internship at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory monitoring satellite operations.
