Charles R. Hartzell

Dr. Hartzell was the Director of the Nemours Research Programs for the Nemours Foundation of Jacksonville, FL. Concurrently he was the Head of the Neuromuscular Research Laboratories at the Nemours/A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, where he had also served as Director of Research. He is a graduate of Geneva Collage and Indiana University where he received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry. He has published more than 90 refereed papers. Following retirement, he recently earned a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary. In his spare time, he has served his church as an elder and Sunday school teacher and coordinator. He has also served on a number of boards of other healthcare-related entities. Dr. Hartzell has been a board member since 2011.
