Jan van Lunzen, MD PhD, serves as a Guest Professor at Radboudumc since March 2023, associated with the HIV2000+ project. As a biotech entrepreneur at Vision7 since May 2001, Jan has extensive experience in research and development, having held the position of Head of Translational Medical Research at ViiV Healthcare from July 2015 to October 2022. Previously, Jan was the Global Medical Director and Head of HIV Immunology Research Laboratory at Heinrich Pette Institute from April 2008 to July 2015. Jan also held the role of Professor of Medicine and Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf from April 1995 to July 2015 and started as a Resident Physician Scientist at Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine from April 1990 to March 1995. Jan's education includes a PhD in Immunologie from the University of Hamburg (1998-2004) and a Doctor of Medicine degree from The Philipp University of Marburg (1983-1988), among other qualifications in Tropical Medicine and Surgery.
