Pedro Bello-Maldonado

Pedro Bello-Maldonado is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in high-performance computing, cloud infrastructure, and machine learning. Currently a Member of Technical Staff at Radical AI, Pedro has developed a hybrid multicloud SLURM cluster for HPC simulations and distributed ML training, managing Linux-based infrastructure and optimizing costs significantly. Previously, as a Senior Software Engineer at VantAI, Pedro built GCP-based cloud infrastructure for protein design in drug discovery and supported transition to cloud computing. Notable contributions at IBM include developing a fast data serving library for NLP and training foundation models. With advanced degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Florida International University, Pedro has a strong research background, having participated in multiple internships focused on GPU acceleration and algorithm optimization.
