Sunil Gopinath

Sunil Gopinath is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in product management and technology innovation, currently serving as Executive Officer and CEO of Rakuten India since November 2016. At Rakuten, Gopinath leads a diverse team of 2000 employees across Product/Design, Sales, Engineering, and Data Sciences, driving innovation and monetization in Ecommerce, Fintech, and Media. Gopinath has held numerous influential positions, including Senior Director & GM at Flipkart, where a significant marketplace was developed, and leadership roles at eBay and Intel, focusing on globalization and next-generation mobile experiences. Gopinath's educational background includes an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and advanced degrees in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and the University of Mysore. Additionally, Gopinath is an active board member at twid and NASSCOM's GCC Council.
