Frank A. Papay

Dr. Papay is an accomplished plastic reconstructive surgeon – biomedical engineer specializing in neuromodulation and face transplantation. Dr. Papay was the lead craniofacial surgeon of America’s first face transplant and has performed three. His research interests include the design of medical devices, biomaterials, advanced surgical techniques and surgical navigation utilizing augmented reality. He has been awarded WebMD’s 2014 Health Hero , the Ohio University Medal and recently received an honorary doctorate degree from Ohio University. Dr. Papay is boarded in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery. He has published over 200 scientific papers and is the inventor of over 40 patents, innovative surgeries and biotech ventures. Dr. Papay is completing his Doctor of Management degree at Case Western Reserve University.
