Andrew Bartko

Andrew Bartko currently serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Microbiome Innovation at the University of California, San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering. In addition to this role, Andrew holds positions as a Professor of Practice in Bioengineering and Pediatrics, and is affiliated with the Program in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California. Previously, Andrew has been the Chief Technology Officer at both Pathogen Sensing Corporation and Design West Technologies, Inc., and has held various research leadership roles at Battelle, including Research Leader, Senior Research Scientist, and Principal Research Scientist. Andrew earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
