Kimberly Melgar-Scott

Department Chair, Mathematics at Relay Graduate School of Education

Kimberly Melgar-Scott, Ed.D. serves as the Department Chair and Content Lead for Mathematics at Relay Graduate School of Education since August 2014, overseeing the development of mathematics coursework and faculty support. In addition to this role, Kimberly teaches as an Assistant Professor, where the focus is on preparing educators to create equitable and effective mathematics classrooms. With experience as a Team Leader at The Urban Assembly School for Applied Math and Science and working as an Algebra 1 Teacher for the NYC Department of Education, Kimberly has contributed to curriculum development and teacher support initiatives. Currently, Kimberly also facilitates sessions on equity and mathematics instruction for school leaders and teachers through UnboundEd.org. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Rutgers University, a Master's in Math Education from Brooklyn College, and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Syracuse University.
