Houlton McGuinn

Houlton McGuinn is a Security Software Engineer at Retool, specializing in the Infrastructure team since March 2023. Prior experience includes working as a Learning Assistant for courses on Introduction to Cryptography and Computer Security Concepts at the UNC Department of Computer Science from August 2021 to December 2022. McGuinn gained industry experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Gusto, focusing on two-factor authentication and account security to combat fraud, and at Censys, where efforts were directed towards internet scanning and optimizing data pipelines. Additional internships at Georgia Tech Research Institute involved reverse engineering IoT devices, while work at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School included developing tools for analyzing SEC filings.
