Jason Gao

Jason Gao is a skilled Software Engineer with extensive experience in core infrastructure development. Currently working at Retool since May 2022, Jason previously held multiple engineering roles at Okta from June 2017 to April 2022, including Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, where responsibilities included maintaining and upgrading critical frameworks and infrastructure, along with significant improvements to release tooling. Earlier experience encompasses a Release Engineering Intern role at Okta in 2016, and a Solution Consulting Intern position at Kaiser Permanente in 2015, focusing on disaster recovery systems. Jason began their career as a Teacher Assistant for 3D Game Design at BiTSSmart in 2014. Jason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
