Klaus Kappen

Klaus Kappen serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Rheinmetall since January 2018, alongside the position of CEO at Rheinmetall Technology Center GmbH, with a focus on defence technologies. Additionally, Kappen is the Head of Research & Technologies and Special Programs at MIRA GmbH and emphasizes advancements in mobility. Previously, Kappen was with IABG mbH, where responsibilities included leading Land Systems and Operations and managing technologies for the German Army. Early career experience involved research on interior ballistics at the US Army Research Laboratory and project management roles at IABG. An alumnus of the Technical University of Munich, Klaus Kappen holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies.
