George Sfinarolakis

George Sfinarolakis is an experienced professional with a focus on energy policy and environmental economics. Currently serving as the Implementation Director of Policy and Programs for the State of Rhode Island since January 2013, Sfinarolakis has led initiatives such as the "Lead by Example" Energy Initiative, which promotes renewable energy adoption and energy efficiency within state agencies. Notably, Sfinarolakis developed a centralized billing system for utility expenses and set a target for a 10% reduction in energy consumption. Previous roles include Energy Fellow funded by the U.S. government, Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island focusing on air quality modeling, and Teaching Assistant at Northern Arizona University specializing in GIS. Sfinarolakis holds a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island, an MSc in Applied Geospatial Sciences from Northern Arizona University, and a BSc in Economics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
