Tyrell Sassen

Tyrell Sassen is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as Group Chief Information Security Officer at Ringier AG since October 2022, Tyrell previously led the X-Force Incident Response team in Canada at IBM from February 2021 to September 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Manager in Cyber Risk Services at Deloitte from October 2014 to January 2021, and as an Embedded Software Developer at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from July 2011 to September 2014. Tyrell also contributed as a Communications Engineer for the South African National Antarctic Programme from October 2009 to March 2011 and worked as a Network Systems Engineer at Telkom from February 2006 to August 2009. Tyrell holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Computer Networks) and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both from the University of Cape Town.
