Erich Heymann

Erich Heymann is a seasoned professional in mine closure planning and environmental management, currently serving as the Principal Closure Planning at Rio Tinto since March 2022. Prior roles include Mine Closure Specialist at GHD and various positions at Anglo American, where responsibilities spanned safety and sustainable development integration, mine closure planning, and environmental management. Erich has extensive consulting experience with SRK Consulting and has previously managed environmental operations for significant corporations, such as Engen and Anglo American. With a BEng and MBA in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration from Stellenbosch University, Erich combines technical expertise with strategic oversight in environmental and closure planning across the resources sector.
