Steven Cooper

Steven Cooper has over two decades of experience in the financial sector. Steven began their career at Barclays in 1998 as a Strategy Development Manager. In 2001, they were promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Barclays Africa Group Limited and oversaw the company's expansion into new markets across Africa and the Middle East. In 2006, they returned to Barclays and became CEO of Barclaycard Business. Steven was responsible for Payment Integration & Acceptance, point of sale finance, Corporate / SME Cards, and Virtual B2B Procurement Solutions. In 2019, they left Barclays to become Group CEO of C. Hoare & Co. Private Bank. Steven is currently a Non-executive Director at Robert Walters and Chairman of Experian UK.

Steven Cooper has an honorary doctorate from Heriot-Watt University in banking and social mobility. Steven also has degrees from London Guildhall University and Harvard Business School.
