Dr. Starsky D. Wilson is an accomplished leader in the nonprofit and faith-based sectors, currently serving as President & CEO of the Children's Defense Fund since December 2020 and as a Board Trustee for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation since January 2022. Previously, Dr. Wilson held the position of President & CEO at the Deaconess Foundation from November 2011 to November 2020 and served as Pastor and Teacher at Saint John's Church (The Beloved Community) from June 2008 to November 2018. With experience as a Congregation-Based Campus Minister at Normandy United Methodist Church and in various roles within the Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and The Black Rep, Dr. Wilson's extensive background also includes leadership positions at the Madison County Urban League and United Way across several cities. Academically, Dr. Wilson earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Duke Divinity School, a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Theology from Xavier University of Louisiana.
