Yawei Li

Yawei Li is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector, currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Roblox since 2021 and previously holding the title of Senior Engineering Manager at Google, where leadership of the Search/Assistant Infra engineering team was emphasized. Prior roles include notable positions at Uber as Chief Storage Architect, where Yawei managed core storage infrastructure teams, and multiple engineering roles at Google, most prominently as a Software Engineer and Team Lead, contributing to the development of key distributed databases. Earlier in the career, Yawei gained experience at BEA Systems and IONA Technologies, focusing on large-scale web and transaction processing systems. Yawei holds a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
