Nicolas Velez

Nicolas Velez serves as the Lead of Tech Sourcing and Community Events at Nucleate, where contributions focus on organizing the Nucleate activator program in New York City to support academic entrepreneurs in launching biotech startups. As a PhD candidate at The Rockefeller University, ongoing research investigates the wiring and regeneration of hair cells and sensory axons in zebrafish, complemented by the development of advanced optical systems for brain imaging. Previous roles include volunteer consulting for Neurohue, conducting research at both The Rockefeller University and University College London, and obtaining an MSci in Neuroscience from UCL. Education at The Rockefeller University is expected to culminate in a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience in 2024.
