Reid Shaffer

Reid Shaffer, P.E. is a seasoned professional in naval architecture and marine engineering, currently serving as a Senior Launch Engineer at SpaceX since February 2020. Prior experience includes roles as a Naval Architect at Elliott Bay Design Group and as Lead Engineer at Vigor Kvichak, LLC, where significant contributions were made to US Coast Guard projects. With a robust background at Kvichak Marine Industries, Inc., Reid Shaffer designed and developed a wide array of custom aluminum workboats, implemented innovative design practices, and conducted extensive structural analysis. Reid's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the University of New Orleans.
