David Warrilow OBE is a distinguished climate change science and policy expert with extensive experience in both government and independent consultancy. Currently serving as Vice President of the Royal Meteorological Society since October 2020, Warrilow previously held the position of President from October 2018 to October 2020, where responsibilities included chairing the Council of Trustees. An independent consultant since 2016, Warrilow has focused on the scientific aspects of the Paris Climate Agreement and advocates for the establishment of a Special Interest Group on Climate Science within the Royal Meteorological Society. Notably, Warrilow spent twenty-six years as a senior science advisor in the UK government, playing a key role in international climate negotiations and leading the UK delegations to the IPCC for over two decades. Warrilow holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow, awarded in 1975.
