Imalka Tennakoon

Imalka Tennakoon is an experienced electrical engineer currently serving as a Substation Engineer at SA Power Networks since July 2024. Prior to this role, Imalka worked at the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) from June 2022 to May 2024 as an Area Electrical Engineer, focusing on improving distribution system reliability and managing maintenance of medium and low voltage networks. Imalka's extensive background at CEB also includes positions as an Electrical Engineer in substation construction and maintenance, energy management, and constructions, where responsibilities ranged from designing primary substations to planning energy meter testing programs. Earlier experience at the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka involved upgrading dam control systems and routine maintenance of electrical infrastructures. Educational credentials include a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Master's degree in Electrical Power, High Voltage, and Energy Systems from the University of Peradeniya.
