Jim Crichton is a former Chief Executive of the State Hospitals Board for Scotland. Over a 30-year career in the NHS he has worked in leadership roles across Scotland, most recently as Director of Mental Health Services in NHS Tayside and prior to this as Director of Primary Care and Mental Health Services in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Jim has a professional background in Mental Health Nursing and has Honours Degrees in Social Administration and Nursing Studies. His early career was based in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde where following his clinical career he held posts in quality improvement, service and general management.
He is passionate about mental health care and continuously improving the quality of care and outcomes for people suffering from mental ill health.
