Trevor Walker is the current Helpdesk Manager, IT Support, and System Administrator at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Trevor has been with the organization for 14 years and 3 months and has been a vital part of keeping the company running smoothly. In their role as Helpdesk Manager, Trevor leads a team of IT professionals and part-time employees in IT support roles for SDSC. Trevor is responsible for maintaining schedules, directing workflows, negotiating service fees, and coordinating with other department heads on changes and implementation of services, policies, and IT infrastructure. Trevor is also responsible for architecting changes to the general IT infrastructure, including desktop and laptop system installations, computer labs, printing infrastructure, conference rooms, and specialized A/V rooms. Additionally, Trevor is responsible for equipment purchasing and pricing negotiation with vendors, as well as general helpdesk support for hardware and software troubleshooting and support. As a System Administrator, Trevor is responsible for Windows AD systems accounting and centralized updates, Solaris ZFS NFS services, RHEL and CentOS services (mail, mailman, apache), A/V integration, conference room A/V needs, visual display clusters, and trade show technical lead at the annual Supercomputing Convention. Trevor's experience and dedication to their role have made him an asset to the San Diego Supercomputer Center.
Trevor Walker attended the University of California, San Diego from 2000 to 2004 where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre/Theater.
