Asa King

Asa King is a legal and public health professional with extensive experience in community health, equity, and public service. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of Community Health at the San Francisco Department of Public Health since June 2023, Asa previously held managerial and analytical roles at the City and County of San Francisco - Human Services Agency from August 2018 to June 2023. Asa's background also includes work as an EEO Investigator for a U.S. Government Contractor and as a Staff Attorney at the Transgender Law Center. Asa began a legal career in public defense with positions at the Mecklenburg County Public Defender and the Federal Public Defender. Asa holds a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Government from Cornell University.
