Lawrence Pech

Lawrence Pech is a highly accomplished dance professional currently serving as Dance Master and Resident Choreographer at San Francisco Opera since May 1997. With a longstanding tenure as a Principal Dancer at San Francisco Ballet since June 1986, Lawrence also held the position of Artistic Director for the Lawrence Pech Dance Company from 1997 to 2002, where responsibilities included choreographing, teaching, and managing operations. As a founding Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer for Diablo Ballet from June 1994 to November 1997, Lawrence played a pivotal role in the company's formation. Earlier in their career, Mikhail Baryshnikov invited Lawrence to join American Ballet Theater, where Lawrence danced from March 1980 to June 1986. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (1991-2005).
