Andy Nakahata

Andy Nakahata is a Managing Director and public finance investment banker with UBS. Andy is the Region Head of Public Finance, West Region, and manages UBS’s west region public finance team. Andy has worked in the public finance industry for more than 26 years. Prior to UBS, he worked at National Public Finance Guarantee, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs. He works with state and local governments, public and private universities, and not-for-profit organizations helping them to fund capital needs through the municipal bond market. Andy recently completed a 7 year term on the Marin Country Day School board of trustees, where he served as Chair of the Board for the past three years. During his tenure as Chair, Andy oversaw a successful Head of School search, Head of School transition, Mission Statement update, campus improvement and new building project and capital campaign. Prior to becoming Chair, Andy served as Chair of the Finance Committee. In addition to working with all standing Board committees, Andy also served on an Indexed Tuition Task Force, Long Range Financial Planning Task Force, Faculty/Staff Salaries and Benefits Task Force, and Co-Chaired the Mindfulness Fund Campaign. Andy has also served on the boards of Kokoro Assisted Living, Enterprise for High School Students and the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project. Andy has a B.A. in history from Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
