Nora Vargas

Nora E Vargas is an experienced leader in public service and governance, currently serving as Chairwoman of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) since January 2023 and as a Board Member of the California Air Resources Board since February 2022. Vargas has been a County Supervisor for the County of San Diego since November 2020 and previously held the role of Supervisor at the SD County Board of Supervisors from January 2021 to February 2022. Other notable positions include Board Member for NALEO and Mothers Out Front, as well as Governing Board Member for the Southwestern Community College District. Vargas has also served as Vice President of Community & Government Relations for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with an emphasis on Peace and Justice Studies from the University of San Francisco, and ongoing studies at Claremont Graduate University.
