Samaya Elder is a Regional Planner II at the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) since October 2020, focusing on regional clean transportation projects within the Climate section. Previously, Samaya held the position of Regional Planner I, contributing to the Clean Transportation section and later transitioning to comprehensive planning roles addressing climate, energy, and resilience. Samaya began with SANDAG as a Mobility and Innovation Intern, concentrating on regional transportation electrification. Additional experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Instructional Assistant at UC San Diego and a Junior Analyst at UC San Diego Health. Samaya's earlier roles also include Development Assistant at Chelsea Investment Corporation and Development Intern at Population Connection. Samaya holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies and Planning from UC San Diego and participated in the College Year in Athens program in 2019.
