Velile Memela

Velile Memela is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the banking and finance sector. Currently serving as the Group Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Sanlam, Velile has previously held key roles including Head of Legal at FirstRand Bank Ltd and Head of Legal for Group Treasury at the same institution. Velile's expertise is further demonstrated through experience as Legal Counsel at FirstRand Bank Limited and as a Senior Associate in the Project, Banking, and Finance Department at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc. In addition to practical legal experience, Velile contributes to academia as an External Examiner and Supervisor for MBA Research Projects at GIBS Business School.
