Kristina Manilay

Kristina Manilay is a dedicated educator with experience as a 5th grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary within the Santa Barbara Unified School District since August 2022. Prior to this role, Kristina served as a Mathematics Academic Support specialist for incoming 1st graders in the Goleta Union School District's Summer Thrive program and also worked as a substitute teacher with long-term assignments in 1st and 2nd grades. Kristina's background includes a position as Front End Coordinator at T.J. Maxx and experience as a Teacher's Assistant at an Early Childhood Education Center, where support was provided in fostering a positive learning environment for preschool-aged children. Kristina also demonstrated leadership as a Senior Orientation Leader and Orientation Leader at Thurgood Marshall College, UCSD, and gained administrative experience in procurement and human resources during summer positions at the University of the Pacific. Kristina holds a Master of Education in Elementary Education and Teaching from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Human Developmental Sciences, along with minors in Music and Education Studies.
