Ousmane Sanogo

Ousmane SANOGO is an experienced agricultural professional currently serving as the Deputy Country Director at the Sasakawa Africa Association since July 2023, focusing on regenerative and market-oriented agriculture. Previously, Ousmane was a Technical Support Specialist at Groupe de Recherches et d'Applications Techniques, where efforts were directed towards enhancing value chains and empowering women cooperative farmers in the Sikasso and Kadiolo regions. Ousmane's extensive background includes roles at ICRISAT as a Cluster Lead for Crop Improvement Operations, and as a Program Manager at Akvo, overseeing large-scale initiatives in West Africa. Ousmane has held leadership positions in integrated soil fertility management and conducted significant research on groundnut breeding, culminating in a PhD from the University of Ghana. Educational credentials include multiple MSc degrees in Crop Protection and Agronomy from esteemed institutions in Europe and Mali.
