Martin Woodside

Martin Woodside is an experienced educational leader currently serving as a School Principal with the School District of Philadelphia and previously held the position of Assistant Principal. Martin also contributes as a Principal Fellow at Olney Elementary School through the PhillyPLUS program, aimed at cultivating future leaders in public education. With nearly two decades as a freelance writer, Martin's work spans music and film journalism in various publications. Additionally, Martin is a founding member of Calypso Editions, LLC, a cooperative literary press focused on presenting exceptional literature. Academic roles include instructing at Rowan University, the University of the Arts, and Temple University, as well as holding prestigious fellowships at Rutgers. Martin earned a Ph.D. in Childhood Studies from Rutgers University - Camden, an MFA in Creative Writing from San Diego State University, and multiple degrees in English.
