Elise Cartmell

Elise Cartmell is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental technology and water sciences. Currently serving as General Manager Zero Emissions and Chief Scientist at Scottish Water since April 2016, Elise previously held multiple senior positions at Cranfield University from August 2000 to April 2016, including Director of Environmental Technology, Professor of Water Technology, and Head of Cranfield Water Science Institute. Earlier in career, Elise worked as a Research Scientist at WRc plc from March 1997 to August 2000, specializing in soil, waste, and groundwater research. Elise holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London (1993-1996) and a degree in Environmental Chemistry from The University of Edinburgh (1989-1993), with early education at Rudolf Steiner School of Edinburgh.
