Technical Customer Support at Sea-Bird Electronics

Nilza Sonam Chodon has extensive experience in oceanography and technical support. Currently serving as Technical Customer Support at Sea-Bird Scientific since February 2022, Nilza previously gained valuable experience at Oregon State University from July 2018 to March 2022 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a Coastal Oceanography course, an AUV Lab Assistant, and a Research Assistant focused on fieldwork in the Gulf of Mexico. Notable research involvement includes a position as a Graduate Student Researcher with the Ocean Observatories Initiative, participating in a research cruise in the Pacific Northwest. Early career experience includes an internship at Western Washington University, where skills in operating and maintaining an ADCP were developed, and an algae technician role at Taylor Shellfish. Nilza holds a Master’s degree in Physical Oceanography and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science/Oceanography.
