Joshua Rodriguez is the current Executive Vice President at Seattle Opera. Joshua has an extensive background in leadership and management, most notably with the United States Army Reserve.
Rodriguez began their career with the 8th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment in January 2013 as the Director of Operations. In this role, they were responsible for leading a reconnaissance troop of 100+ soldiers who were ready to deploy anywhere in the world. Joshua was also a combat leader and director of training, preparing scouts to perform under extreme conditions.
In January 2012, Rodriguez took on the role of Manager of Strategy, Operations, and Plans for the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. In this role, they were responsible for planning operations orders for a 4000+ soldier organization. Joshua was rated 1 of the top 2 captains in the brigade against 54 peers and was responsible for developing and implementing the framework to close and/or transfer 16 out of 20 U.S. bases in Afghanistan. Joshua also led negotiations with Afghan governmental and tribal leaders to reach real estate agreements that shaped the success of three districts, one of which is the spiritual home to the Taliban.
Rodriguez has proven himself to be an exemplary leader and manager with a wealth of experience in both combat and peacetime operations. Joshua's skills and experience make him a valuable asset to any organization.
Joshua Rodriguez has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Russian and French from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and Leadership training from the U.S. Army Ranger School and U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence. Joshua is also certified by FINRA in Series 3, Series 66, and Series 7.
