Manik Surtani

Manik Surtani is an experienced technology leader currently serving in the Office of the CTO at Block, focusing on strategic and engineering culture initiatives. In previous roles, Manik held the position of VP of Engineering at Cash App, managing a remote-first organization across multiple countries. Manik serves as a Scout at Sequoia Capital, supporting early-stage startups. Earlier experience includes significant contributions at Red Hat Inc. as a Senior Principal Software Engineer, and at JBoss Inc. as Lead R&D Engineer. Manik co-founded high-tech ventures such as Mobot Limited and Silkroad Services Limited, along with consulting for major clients like Virgin Atlantic Airways and Vodafone while at Conchango plc. Manik holds a BSc with first-class honors in Computing from Swansea University.
