Nora Vargas Acosta

Her professional life is characterized by having been a lawyer for civil liberties and rights and representing vulnerable sectors. He began his career at the Puerto Rican Civil Liberties Institute working on cases of police abuse, discrimination in employment and community education projects. He was part of the Santurce Law Office where he dealt with cases of indigent people or people with limited resources in the areas of family, minors and housing. From private practice, he has continued to represent labor, discrimination, disability and right to expression and privacy cases. He has served and collaborated in entities that promote access to justice such as the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the American Civil Liberties Union - Puerto Rico, "Sabana Litigation Project", and oversees the clinic that provides services to the LGBTT community at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. In 2011, she received the Nilita Vientós Gastón Medal from the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
