Alex Sophola

Alex Sophola has extensive experience in the maritime and fishing sectors, currently serving as a Monitoring Officer at the Seychelles Fishing Authority since August 2013 and previously holding the role of Monitoring Technician. Key responsibilities include configuring and installing vessel monitoring systems (VMS) on fishing vessels, along with gaining proficiency in satellite-based monitoring systems. Prior to this, Alex worked as Senior Technical Staff at Land Marine Limited from June 2006 to July 2013, contributing to the effective operation of the shore handling section and demonstrating a strong understanding of shipping laws and port procedures. Alex holds a Diploma in General Management from The Guy Morel's Institute (2015-2018) and a Certificate in General Management from the Seychelles Institute of Management (2013-2015), along with education from Seychelles Polytechnic (2004-2005).
