James W. Bergenn is a seasoned trial attorney and partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP since 1980. With a commitment to legal education, Bergenn served as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at UConn Law from 1986 to 2010. In addition to legal practice, Bergenn contributed to the Criminal Justice Panel as a panelist from 1983 to 2015 and was actively involved in Democratic politics as a volunteer from 1979 to 2015, including a term as the ex town chair of Glastonbury from 1995 to 1997. Bergenn holds a B.A. in Political Philosophy with honors from The Catholic University of America, a J.D. from Columbia Law School, and continues to be affiliated with Columbia Law School as a candidate for a Doctor of Law degree. Membership in the Constitution Society from 2005 to 2009 further exemplifies Bergenn's dedication to civil discourse and legal advocacy.
