Gianluca Degano

Gianluca Degano serves as the Senior Director of IP at Signify since 2018, overseeing business development for the IP Licensing portfolio in Southern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, India, and Japan, and leading high-level negotiations with major companies. Previously, Gianluca held the position of Director - IP Counsel at Philips Lighting from 2012 to 2017, where responsibilities mirrored those at Signify. Prior to that, Gianluca was a Senior Advisor (Head of Section) at the Council of Europe from 2009 to 2012, managing legal and diplomatic processes regarding enforcement of European Court of Human Rights judgments. Gianluca began a legal career as a Senior Lawyer at Trevisan & Cuonzo Avvocati, providing counsel on intellectual property and corporate law. Education includes an LL.M./DEA in IP and EU law from the University of Liège and a JD in Law from Università degli Studi di Trieste.
