Allyson Choi is a Ph.D. candidate in Integrated Biology and Medicine at Duke-NUS Medical School, focusing on the molecular epidemiology of dengue virus to inform future vaccine design, under the supervision of Professor Ooi Eng Eong. Prior to this, Allyson served as a Cellular Biology Research Scholar at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, studying mitochondrial dysfunction in cellular senescence. Allyson also co-founded and presided over the Malaysian Bioscience Scholars, addressing brain drain in Malaysia's bio-based industries. Additional experience includes a summer research scholarship at the Brain Research Institute of Monash Sunway Malaysia and a project management internship at Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad. Allyson holds a BSc in Biomedical Science from UCL and completed GCSE 'A' Levels at Taylor's College.
