Alyssa Garcia

Alyssa believes design that connects people to place is derived first from a process that builds common ground, takes the time to listen, and creatively engages the community. An equitable process breaks down social barriers and is fundamental to informing design. Collaboration is the core of Alyssa’s design philosophy, both within and outside of Sitelab. She responds with solutions from both a creative and pragmatic mindset. This is shown through her work from the 85-acre mixed-use master plan in San José, to a strategy toolkit developed for the homeless services non-profit Lava Mae.

Alyssa is an urban designer and planner with degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design and bachelors of Science in landscape architecture from the Ohio State University.
