Shaylee Clinton

Shaylee Clinton was elected by the students of SIU Carbondale to serve on the SIU Board of Trustees. Her one-year term begins on July 1, 2021.

A native of Ina who graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School in 2017, Clinton enrolled at SIU Carbondale in fall 2019 after transferring from Kaskaskia College. She is a senior majoring in outdoor recreation management and leadership with a specialization in environmental education and a minor in agriculture education. She will graduate in May 2023.

Clinton has held several leadership roles on campus and in undergraduate student government (USG). That includes USG executive vice president, USG senator, Alpha Tau Alpha and Agriculture Education Club vice president, and a member of the Sigma Alpha sorority. She is the SIU Barbell Club president and past SIU powerlifting captain.
