Brent Hickey

Brent Hickey is an accomplished engineering manager with extensive experience in software development and virtual reality applications. Currently serving as the technical pod lead at Skillz since September 2018, Brent leads a team focused on real-time synchronous gaming, utilizing technologies such as Elixir and Erlang. Previously, Brent worked as a software engineer at SAIC Innovation Center and CognifiSense, Inc., where the focus was on developing virtual reality applications for pain management and visualization. Additionally, experience includes serving as a product manager and virtual reality application engineer at Police Strategies, and a research assistant at UCSC High Level Perception Lab, specializing in virtual reality perception studies. Brent holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
