Mikkel B. Stegmann

Mikkel B. Stegmann is an accomplished expert in biometrics and technology development, currently serving as the Head of Camera-based Biometrics at Smart Eye since January 2025. Previously, Mikkel held several senior positions at Fingerprint Cards from November 2015 to December 2024, including General Manager of Touchless Technologies, where responsibilities encompassed architecting a world-class iris recognition engine that integrates face recognition benefits with iris biometry. Mikkel's extensive background includes roles such as Principal Scientist and Technology Manager, specializing in machine learning, image analysis, and early-stage technology development across various organizations including Teklatech and Skånes universitetssjukhus. With a strong academic foundation in Mathematical Modelling from DTU, Mikkel has contributed to numerous international collaborations and has significant experience in project and group management, product design, and software architecture in fields such as medical imaging and 3D laser scanning.
