Matthew Townsend

Matthew Townsend serves as the Senior Director of Manufacturing Strategy at Paragon Medical since April 2021, previously holding the position of Director of Operational Excellence. Townsend contributes to the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers as a Board Member for both the Society for Engineering and Management Systems and the Work Systems Division, while also advising Articulate Labs and participating on the Customer Advisory Board at MachineMetrics. From January 2015 to January 2022, Townsend was involved with Ivy Tech Community College as an Advisory Board Member for the Supply Chain Management and Logistics program and as an Adjunct Faculty member teaching various logistics and supply chain courses. Previous roles include OEE Director and Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager at Avalign Technologies, Limited Term Lecturer at Purdue University, CEO of Lake City Medical, and Senior Financial Analyst at DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson. Townsend holds a Master of Science in Engineering Technology from Purdue University, an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Manchester University.
