Noheir Elgendy

Noheir Elgendy is an experienced academic and professional in the fields of architecture and urban studies, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto's John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design and as a Sessional Lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University's Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science. Elgendy also holds the position of Executive Director at QED and is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians. An affiliate faculty member at York University, Elgendy's research focuses on urban policies related to informal settlements, refugees, and urban minorities, addressing the urban implications of population displacement and forced migration. Additional roles include Associate Member at the Yeates School of Graduate Studies and Co-Founder of CHAGARA Block-printed Textiles. Former academic positions include Assistant Professor at Cairo University and Assistant Lecturer and Instructor roles in positions in Italy and the UK. Elgendy holds a Leading Social Justice Fellowship from the University of Toronto and has earned a doctorate from Politecnico di Milano.
