Lauren Horvath is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with extensive experience in leadership and project management within various engineering and social organizations. Currently serving on the Nominating Committee of the Society of Women Engineers, Lauren oversees the election process for chapter leadership. In addition to a role as Social Director at ASME, responsibilities include organizing engaging virtual events. Previous positions include a Mechanical Engineering Intern at ITW, where Lauren validated prototype designs, and several leadership roles within the Engineers in Action Bridge Program, including Project Manager and President, overseeing bridge construction projects in collaboration with student teams and local communities. Lauren has also demonstrated commitment to cultural awareness and mentorship through various roles, including serving as an instructor for international students and managing fundraising initiatives.
